Padilla, Bato, and Bong Go join forces to push Duterte’s return from ICC

Senator Robin Padilla revealed on Monday that a resolution is underway urging the Philippine government to repatriate former president Rodrigo Duterte, who is currently in detention at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands.

Padilla said the yet-to-be-filed resolution has already been signed by fellow senators Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa and Christopher “Bong” Go. He emphasized that this move isn’t just a piece of legislation—it’s a broader call to action.

“This is more than just a resolution,” Padilla stressed. “It is a call for unity, for respect of our sovereignty, and for justice for a former President who bravely served the nation.”

He also encouraged more senators to express their support in the coming days.

Duterte has been in ICC custody since his arrest in Manila on March 11. He was turned over to the ICC the following day and is now held at the Scheveningen Prison, facing charges of crimes against humanity in connection with the thousands of killings linked to his administration’s controversial war on drugs.
