Pack your Mickey ears! Disney is bringing its magic to Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi is set to become home to the world’s newest Disney theme park, bringing the magic of Disney to the heart of the UAE. Disney Abu Dhabi, the seventh Disney theme park destination globally, will be located on Yas Island, promising a groundbreaking, interactive experience like no other.

Disney CEO Bob Iger made the announcement in Abu Dhabi, emphasizing that this latest addition will blend Disney’s iconic storytelling with the cultural essence of the UAE. “This is an extraordinary opportunity for Disney to bring its renowned storytelling to yet another region of the world with a completely new theme park experience that will be a cultural, entertainment, and technological marvel,” Iger stated.

The project will be a collaboration between Walt Disney Imagineering and Miral, the UAE-based developer behind Yas Island’s world-class attractions. Together, they aim to create an immersive park that combines state-of-the-art technology with stories and experiences inspired by both Disney’s beloved characters and the UAE’s rich heritage.

Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney Experiences, revealed that Disney Abu Dhabi will feature a modern castle unlike any other in the world, along with innovative rides, immersive environments, and groundbreaking architecture. “The concept for this resort will push the boundaries of theme park design, showcasing groundbreaking technology and visionary architecture,” D’Amaro explained.

Disney Abu Dhabi is also expected to contribute to the local economy by creating thousands of jobs while enhancing the UAE’s position as a global tourism destination. From Marvel and Star Wars fans to those who grew up with Disney classics, the new park promises to offer something for everyone.
