P204,000 worth of shabu seized from 16-year-old inside Parañaque school

A high school student in Parañaque was caught allegedly carrying crystal meth and a knife inside campus grounds, according to a report by Inquirer.net.

The Southern Police District (SPD) said the 16-year-old, identified only by the initials G.A.R., was reported to authorities by the school principal on Tuesday morning. With the help of school officials and a guidance counselor, police found a kitchen knife and a Lazada-printed plastic bag containing 10 heat-sealed sachets of suspected shabu.

The seized drugs weighed around 30 grams, with an estimated street value of ₱204,000.

SPD Director Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo emphasized the importance of shielding minors from the dangers of illegal substances. “While the student will still face appropriate charges in due time and in accordance with the law, our foremost priority is to rescue and protect the youth from the perils of drugs,” he said.

The confiscated items were turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit for laboratory testing. Meanwhile, the minor was referred to the women’s desk of the Parañaque police while awaiting proper handling by the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
