The Philippine government has announced a substantial reward for information leading to the arrest of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, the controversial leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) church. Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos revealed in a press conference that a P10 million reward is being offered for Quiboloy’s capture, with an additional P1 million each for five co-accused individuals.
“We have friends who want to help in the search and are offering a reward of P10 million for any information leading to the arrest of Pastor Quiboloy,” Abalos stated.
Quiboloy faces arrest warrants for alleged violations of child protection laws and human trafficking. He has been in hiding since the Senate issued an arrest order for his refusal to attend hearings. Despite raids on KOJC properties in various locations, authorities have been unable to locate the pastor.
The case has international implications, as Quiboloy is also wanted in the United States on charges including sex trafficking and conspiracy. The FBI has previously issued “wanted” posters for Quiboloy and two KOJC associates.
As of now, Quiboloy’s legal representative has not provided a statement regarding the reward offer.
