OWWA opens new Yakap at Gamot botika for seafarers in Parañaque

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) has launched the third branch of the Alagang OWWA Yakap at Gamot Botika powered by VidaCure, marking another step in the agency’s effort to widen access to healthcare services for Filipino seafarers and their families.

The newly opened botika is located inside the Seafarers’ Welfare Center at Monarch Parksuites in Parañaque City, which was also formally inaugurated on the same occasion. OWWA said the facility is part of its push to strengthen integrated welfare services, allowing seafarers to access multiple forms of assistance in a single location.

With the addition of the botika, the Seafarers’ Welfare Center is now positioned as a hub where clients can process government-related services, rest, and secure medical support, including access to essential medicines.

The OWWA Yakap at Gamot Botika powered by VidaCure is a healthcare initiative implemented in partnership with VidaCure and aligned with the PhilHealth “Yakap at Gamot” program, which provides qualified Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their dependents access to outpatient medicine benefits.

As an accredited dispensing site, the program enables eligible beneficiaries to obtain free or subsidized medicines, depending on PhilHealth coverage and specific requirements. OWWA earlier confirmed that one of the botika’s service points is located at the OWWA Center Building in Pasay City, while other service areas have been expanding, including reported locations such as Tuguegarao.

OWWA said the continued expansion of the Alagang OWWA Yakap at Gamot program forms part of the government’s directive to make healthcare assistance for OFWs more accessible and more humane.
