Dubai’s flagship carrier, Emirates, anticipates a surge in travelers at Dubai International Airport (DXB) during the upcoming Eid Al Fitr holidays. The airline expects particularly busy weekends before, during, and after the celebrations.
With large passenger volumes, congestion is expected around Terminal 3 entrances. Emirates has urged departing travelers to allow extra time for their journeys to avoid delays. The peak travel dates for Terminal 3 are forecasted on March 28-29 and April 5-6, with over 80,000 passengers departing daily.
To ensure smooth travel, Emirates advises passengers to arrive at the airport three hours before departure and utilize early check-in options. Travelers can check in online, via the mobile app, city check-in, kiosks, or home check-in services. Customers can also drop off their baggage the night before at no extra charge—up to 24 hours before departure for most flights and 12 hours for flights to the US.
Strict boarding procedures will be in place, with gates closing 20 minutes before departure. Passengers must clear passport control and security 90 minutes prior to their flight and should be at their gate at least 60 minutes before departure for Economy and Premium Economy passengers, and 45 minutes for First and Business Class travelers.
Emirates encourages travelers to take advantage of Smart Tunnel immigration and other streamlined processes to ensure a hassle-free journey during the peak holiday season.
