Since its launch in June 2022, the Department of Migrant Workers’ (DMW) online contract verification system has processed 41,976 verifications, significantly reducing wait times for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
The initiative, “Save Time. Go Online,” was introduced by the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Dubai to streamline the verification process, eliminating the need for lengthy in-person appointments. The system allows OFWs to submit required documents online, with approvals completed within two weeks. Once verified, they can simply pay and collect their documents in just five to fifteen minutes.
Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac emphasized that the system aligns with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to modernize government services for OFWs. It also responds to discussions raised in a recent Senate hearing on improving services for migrant workers.
How the system works:
- OFWs can submit contract documents online every Monday (8:00 AM) to Wednesday (11:59 PM) or until 400-600 slots are filled.
- MWO Dubai reviews and approves applications within two weeks.
- Once approved, OFWs receive an email with payment and collection details, minimizing in-person processing time.
- OFWs with valid visas in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah can use the system.
With nearly 42,000 contracts verified, the system has proven effective in cutting queues and expediting compliance for OFWs. MWO Dubai encourages OFWs to continue using the platform by visiting mwodubai.org/apply-here and following the MWO Dubai and Northern Emirates Facebook page for updates.
