Dubai residents and visitors can now enjoy safer evening rides on cycling and e-scooter tracks, thanks to the recent maintenance efforts by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The RTA has successfully completed the maintenance of 2,173 lighting units across key cycling and e-scooter tracks, including Al Qudra, Jumeirah, Nad Al Sheba, and Mirdif & Mushrif.
Abdullah Lootah, Director of Roads and Facilities Maintenance at the Traffic and Roads Agency, emphasized RTA’s commitment to providing the necessary infrastructure for public safety and enjoyment. He highlighted that maintenance activities are conducted based on reports from field inspectors, feedback from the RTA Call Centre, and the Madinat service within the RTA app, as well as reports from government partners.
Lootah further explained that the maintenance is carried out through a combination of preventive and corrective measures, ensuring the functionality and safety of the lighting systems along these popular tracks.
