The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai, in partnership with the Migrant Workers Office (MWO), successfully repatriated 12 Filipino nationals to the Philippines on January 6, 2025. The group included Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and minors returning home for the first time.
The Consulate and MWO provided comprehensive assistance to the minors, ensuring all necessary documentation and exit passes were secured for a seamless return. Consul General Marford M. Angeles led the team at the airport to personally oversee the process and offer support to the repatriates, ensuring a smooth journey.
Since the launch of the Amnesty Program in September 2024, a total of 1,159 Filipinos in the UAE have been repatriated. The program has been instrumental in helping Filipinos address their immigration issues and return home with dignity. Many beneficiaries, including those in difficult situations, have expressed gratitude for the opportunity to rebuild their lives and reunite with their families.
The Philippine Government also extended its appreciation to the UAE Government for its critical role in the initiative.
