The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has penalized 1,077 private companies for fraudulent practices in Emiratisation after inspections revealed false employment of 1,818 UAE nationals since mid-2022.
These companies were found to be engaging in “fake Emiratisation,” hiring Emirati citizens in nominal roles without real responsibilities or rehiring them to manipulate employment data and benefit unduly from Emiratisation incentives.
The ministry has imposed stringent penalties on these companies, including financial fines ranging from Dh20,000 to Dh100,000 per violation. Additionally, these firms have been downgraded to the lowest classification in the private sector establishment system, resulting in increased fees for MoHRE services and other repercussions.
The ministry encourages reporting of any Emiratisation-related violations through its call center at 600590000 or via its smart application.
