Three pillars of Original Pilipino Music (OPM) are uniting on one stage for the first time, with Ely Buendia, Chito Miranda, and Arnel Pineda headlining OPM Rock Legends on 10 January at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi.
The concert, presented by Live Nation Middle East in partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi and Miral, promises a powerful night filled with anthems that shaped Filipino music history.
Tickets will be available starting Monday, 3 November at 12 PM via livenation.me.
The gathering marks a major moment in Filipino live entertainment, bringing together three artists who each carved a unique path in OPM.
Buendia led Eraserheads through the genre-defining 1990s rock boom, writing classics such as Ang Huling El Bimbo, With a Smile, and Pare Ko. His work remains deeply woven into Filipino culture, still sung in car rides, karaoke rooms, and reunions across the world.
Miranda, frontman of Parokya ni Edgar, is known for his down-to-earth charm and storytelling style, delivering humor and heart in hits like Harana, Buloy, and Your Song (My One and Only You). For more than two decades, his music has mirrored the everyday lives, heartbreaks, and joys of Filipino listeners.
Pineda brings a global spotlight to the lineup. His journey from Manila singer to frontman of American rock band Journey after being discovered on YouTube in 2007 has inspired fans worldwide. His soaring vocals and stage power have become a symbol of Filipino talent reaching international stages.
The concert also nods to the history of OPM itself. When the term “Original Pilipino Music” emerged in the 1970s, “Pilipino” reflected the era’s Tagalog spelling. The phrase has since stood as a badge of cultural pride, honoring Filipino voices and stories in sound.
Fans can expect a night rich with nostalgia, guitar-driven energy, and songs that span generations, as the three music icons perform their biggest hits in a rare shared performance at Etihad Arena.
