Twelve-year-old Filipino artist Martinus Miguel, based in Dubai, is capturing hearts with the release of his debut single Naakit Mo Ako, a song composed and produced by no less than Original Pilipino Music (OPM) icon Vehnee Saturno. The track, now available on Saturno’s official YouTube channel, marks a historic milestone—Martinus is the first Filipino artist raised in Dubai to be produced by the legendary hitmaker.
In March, Martinus and his family flew to Manila to record the single under Saturno’s mentorship. The opportunity is a dream come true for the young performer, who has been passionate about music since he was a toddler.
Born and raised in Dubai, Martinus began performing at just one year old. By six, he was the youngest drummer in his church’s worship team. Over the years, he has added the piano and guitar to his list of musical skills, and has grown into a dynamic all-around performer—singing, dancing, acting, and playing instruments.
His resume is already impressive: a grand finalist and multi-medalist at the 2024 World Championships of Performing Arts in California, Grand Champion of the Twilight X-Factor Kids 2025, and notable placements in contests like Powerhouse Talent and Al Ain Kids Superstar. He also played the lead role of Aladdin in an Off-Broadway Dubai production, showing his acting prowess.
Currently, Martinus is working on his debut gospel album More Than Conqueror, a project that reflects his faith and artistry. Fluent in both English and Tagalog, he hopes to inspire fellow young dreamers while proudly carrying the Filipino flag abroad. He was recently honored with a Special Award at the 2025 Global Filipino Icon Awards in Dubai.
