The live-action adaptation of the highly popular manga and anime series “One Piece” has sailed to the top of Netflix’s Global Top 10 list, marking a triumphant debut with an unprecedented 18.5 million views within just four days of its release.
According to the latest data from Netflix, the series maintained a steadfast grip at the top spot in the weekly Global Top 10 list for English TV shows from August 28 to September 3.
Not only did it clinch the No. 1 position, but “One Piece” also graced the top 10 lists in 93 countries globally, further showcasing its massive worldwide appeal. Moreover, it reigned supreme as the number one choice in 46 countries.
In acknowledgment of this global accomplishment, Netflix conveyed a heartfelt thank you to the “thousands of straw hats” — referring to the fans who donned the iconic headgear associated with the series’ main character — who gathered for fan screenings and celebrations in 10 countries around the world.
The star-studded cast leading the series includes Iñaki Godoy, who brings to life the ambitious and fearless Monkey D. Luffy, and Mackenyu, who portrays the strong and loyal Roronoa Zoro.
The show also features Emily Rudd as the intelligent and cunning Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as the sharpshooter Usopp, and Taz Skylar embodying the talented chef Sanji.
The series is enriched with performances from a robust supporting cast comprising talents such as Vincent Regan, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino, Morgan Davies, Aidan Scott, and many others who deliver compelling portrayals of various beloved characters from the series.
Despite stiff competition, the series managed to dethrone the previously top-ranked show “Who Is Erin Carter?”, pushing it to the second spot with a notable 15.8 million views.
