House Deputy Minority Leader and ACT Teachers Party-list Rep. France Castro had strong words for Vice President Sara Duterte on her birthday, urging her to stop dodging the issues and confront her impeachment head-on.
“Instead of celebrating with more lies and political theatrics, VP Duterte should use this occasion to reflect on her actions and face the impeachment charges squarely,” Castro said on Saturday, May 31. “The Filipino people deserve transparency, not squid tactics.”
The call came as the Vice President marked her 47th birthday, even as she remains at the center of a constitutional impeachment complaint. Castro emphasized that Duterte’s alleged disinformation campaigns and attempts to divert attention away from the charges are only eroding the public’s trust further.
“On her birthday, we challenge VP Duterte to choose truth over deception, accountability over evasion,” Castro said, adding that the impeachment process is a legitimate and constitutional avenue that should be respected, not mocked.
Duterte has not issued a direct response to Castro’s latest statements.
