Filipinos may soon travel to Oman without securing a visa, with the policy expected to take effect in 2026, according to a report from GMA News Online. The development was disclosed during Oman’s National Day celebration in Makati City, where Ambassador H.E. Nasser Said Abdullah Al Manwari outlined the upcoming changes to the country’s entry rules.
The envoy noted that the planned exemption will allow Filipino visitors to stay in Oman for roughly two weeks without prior documentation. “This is the first country in the Middle East that will waive the visa for the Filipino people. So you can enjoy Oman anytime without visa. Next year, it will be around two weeks without visa,” he said.
While the adjustment is still a year away, Manwari already anticipates a strong uptick in arrivals from the Philippines once the requirement is lifted. “I think the number of the tourists will increase dramatically after the waiving of the visas of the Filipino,” he said.
Direct connectivity between the two countries is already available through flights from Manila to Muscat, and the ambassador said expanded routes are being explored to accommodate expected demand. “We are ready to increase the number of flights. There is a plan to have another direct flight to Cebu. It’s not only Oman Air, but we have other airlines. We are working on that, we are looking to increase the flights from Manila but the capacity of NAIA… maybe in the future, in the coming years,” he added.
Manwari also encouraged Filipinos to experience what the country has to offer, stressing that Oman stands out in the region. “We have mountains, by the coast. We have sands… For our Filipino friends, please visit Oman. It is something amazing. It is unique in the Middle East,” he said.
