Juan Vicente Perez Mora, recognized by Guinness World Records as the oldest man on the planet in 2022, breathed his last on Tuesday at the age of 114, as confirmed by officials and relatives.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced the passing of Juan Vicente Perez Mora via the social media platform X, stating, “Juan Vicente Perez Mora has transcended into eternity at 114 years of age.”

Perez achieved global recognition on February 4, 2022, when Guinness World Records officially declared him the oldest living man at the age of 112 years and 253 days.
Hailing from the town of El Cobre in the Andean state of Tachira, Venezuela, Perez, fondly known as Tio Vicente, was born on May 27, 1909. He was the ninth child among his siblings.
The remarkable man began his journey into agriculture at the tender age of five, working alongside his father and brothers in tasks such as sugar cane and coffee harvesting, as detailed in a Guinness statement from 2022.
Besides his illustrious age, Perez’s legacy includes a large family. As of 2022, he was a father to 11 children, boasting 41 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Perez’s life wasn’t limited to farming; he also served as a sheriff, resolving land and family disputes, all while actively engaging in agricultural pursuits.
