Showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz has responded to actress Bea Alonzo’s filing of cyberlibel cases against him and Cristy Fermin with a heartfelt apology to reporters who reached out to him for comment.
In an Instagram Story, Diaz expressed his regret, stating, “Pasensya na sa lahat ng reporters na tumatawag para maging balanse ang kanilang report.” He empathized with the frantic pace of newsrooms, promising to respond in due time.
However, Diaz also hinted at a desire for authenticity, saying, “Pero eto ha? Ayoko nang magpakaplastik,” a sentiment echoing his vlog’s tagline, where he emphasized staying true to oneself.
Alonzo’s legal action stems from what she perceives as “false, malicious, and damaging information” circulated about her, particularly regarding her breakup with Dominic Roque. This breakup has been a frequent topic on Diaz and Fermin’s shows.
While Diaz has publicly acknowledged the situation, Fermin has yet to comment.
Alonzo and Roque previously highlighted the dissemination of information about their split without consent and the fabrication of sensational stories. Roque also denounced Fermin’s remarks about his sexuality, hinting at potential legal recourse.
