Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) from across the globe are set to connect in a heartfelt gathering on Friday, August 29, 2025, for a program that promises to touch on one of the most emotional chapters of an OFW’s journey—returning home.
Titled “The Joy and Pain of Homecoming: The Slices of Raw and Humbling Narration from a Filipina Nurse in Oman”, the event is a collaboration between the Philippine Nurses Association of Oman, Inc. (PNAO), HR Matrix International Manpower, and Top Rank International. It will take place simultaneously in two formats: a live session in Muscat, Oman, and a global webinar via Zoom.
Two ways to join, one powerful story
In Oman, the in-person gathering will be held at WE MEET, Level 1, Mall of Oman, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 NN (Oman time). The intimate setup will be limited to 35 participants, offering free admission, light snacks, and the rare chance to directly engage with the speaker and fellow OFWs.

For Filipinos in other parts of the world, the session will be streamed live on Zoom from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM (Philippine time), ensuring OFWs in the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and the Americas can be part of the experience.
A voice for every OFW
The program will be led by Dr. Ana Virginia E. Sta. Ana, MAN, RN, a respected Filipina nurse whose personal story mirrors the complex emotions of coming home after years of working abroad. Her talk will unfold in five parts:
It All Started as a Dream
Dreams vs. Reality
Slices of Raw and Humbling Homecoming Experiences
From Pain and Joy to Beauty
Let’s Come Home
Through her candid storytelling, Dr. Sta. Ana aims to create a safe space for reflection, connection, and healing—reminding participants that “there is no place like being home,” whether that means a physical return or a deep reconnection to one’s roots.
Why it matters
For millions of OFWs, “homecoming” is more than just stepping off a plane. It’s the embrace of loved ones long missed, the bittersweet acknowledgment of years apart, and the reconciliation of dreams and reality. This event seeks to honor that journey, offering a moment to laugh, remember, and perhaps shed a tear.
