OFWs to benefit from new support offices and agency reforms

The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) has renewed its pledge to protect the rights and welfare of Filipinos working abroad, following the oath-taking of the newly elected Board of Trustees of the Philippine Responsible Intercontinental Manpower Association (PRIMA) on Wednesday in Mandaluyong City.

DMW Officer-in-Charge Undersecretary Felicitas Q. Bay led the ceremony, emphasizing the department’s push for safe, fair, and ethical recruitment practices in collaboration with licensed recruitment agencies.

The event also highlighted DMW’s growing support infrastructure for OFWs, including the recent establishment of Migrant Workers Offices (MWOs) in Bangkok, Cambodia, and Vietnam, designed to bring government services closer to Filipinos overseas.

PRIMA, formerly known as the EC-ANZAEPP, pledged its continued cooperation with the DMW in upholding responsible deployment practices that prioritize worker safety and ethical standards.

Also in attendance were Undersecretary Jainal T. Rasul, Assistant Secretary Ma. Regina Angela Galias, and Director Rosemarie G. Duquez—further affirming the government’s unified stance in championing the rights of migrant workers.
