OFWs in Dubai urged to use hotlines as Philippine offices shut for Eid break

Filipino workers and nationals in Dubai who need in-person consular or labor services this week will have to wait — the Philippine Consulate General and the Migrant Workers Office (MWO-Dubai) are both shutting their doors Thursday and Friday in observance of Eid al-Fitr.

The two-day closure on March 19 and 20 was announced under MWO-Dubai Advisory No. 10, Series of 2026, which also covers affiliated agencies including OWWA-Dubai, SSS, and Pag-IBIG. Contract verification slots through VFS Global in Dubai will similarly be suspended from March 19 to 22.

An exception has been carved out for OFWs in distress. The MWO-Dubai Assistance to Nationals section will remain operational throughout the holiday period, citing the ongoing regional crisis. Workers requiring emergency support can reach the ATN section at 056-353-5558, 054-223-0822, or 056-153-3057, or via email at atn.mwodubai@dmw.gov.ph. OWWA-Dubai is reachable at 050-558-5536 or dubai@owwa.gov.ph.

Balik-Manggagawa OFWs who need employment contract verification during the closure period can use the online route through dmw.dataflowgroup.com.

For consular concerns — passports, notarial services, and civil registry — the Consulate General’s emergency line is +971 4 220 7800. Non-OFW nationals can call +971 56 501 5756. Accreditation, job order, and OEC matters under MWO-Dubai fall under +971 50 652 6626.
