The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) reported significant cost savings for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) following the implementation of its Online Contract Verification System.
During a meeting at Swissotel Al Ghurair with DataFlow executives, Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac reviewed the progress of the digital platform, which has already processed more than 9,000 applications since the expansion of weekly slots. Of these, 6,800 contracts were approved, translating into an estimated 54,000 hours saved and AED 500,000 in reduced expenses for Filipino workers.
Cacdac, joined by Undersecretary Jainal T. Rasul and the MWO-Dubai team led by Labor Attaché John Rio Bautista, underscored the impact of the system not only in easing long queues but also in protecting workers’ resources. “We are seeing promising numbers, but our goal is not just efficiency—it’s excellence. Every OFW deserves the best process possible,” he stressed, adding that updates will be relayed to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. as the project moves toward global rollout.
The platform integrates AI to minimize document errors, strengthens monitoring of evaluator performance, and ensures Philippine standards are upheld through final DMW reviews. DataFlow executives reaffirmed their commitment under the April 2024 agreement, positioning Dubai as a benchmark in digital labor contract verification worldwide.
