A 53-year-old overseas Filipina worker (OFW), Lorna Babao, was shot and killed by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Lobo town, Batangas province, on Monday, July 15.
Babao, who was single, was on her way home at 11:23 a.m., riding a tricycle with her mother when the gunmen appeared and repeatedly shot her with a caliber .45 pistol in Barangay Balatbat, according to the Region 4A police report released on Tuesday, July 16.
The assailants fled the scene immediately after the shooting.
Babao, a resident of Balatbat, suffered a fatal gunshot wound to her nape and died en route to the Lobo Municipal Hospital. Her mother and the tricycle driver were unharmed.
The police are investigating the incident to identify the killers and determine the motive behind the attack.
