The Philippine government plans to return the Bagong Bayani ng Mundo–OFW Serbisyo Caravan to the United Arab Emirates to reach overseas Filipino workers who were unable to attend earlier stops because of work commitments, according to Department of Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac.
The announcement follows the completion of the caravan’s January schedule, which was held in Dubai from January 8 to 12, 2026, and in Abu Dhabi from January 13 to 14, 2026. Cacdac said the decision to redeploy the caravan aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to ensure that Filipino workers abroad have access to government assistance through a whole-of-government, one-stop service approach.
During the initial run in the UAE, a total of 8,205 overseas Filipino workers were served, accounting for 17,765 transactions across various government services. The activity was led by the DMW in coordination with the Philippine Embassy in the UAE and several partner agencies, including the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Social Security System, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG Fund, Land Transportation Office, Department of Information and Communications Technology, and the Office of the President–Presidential Action Center.
Cacdac said the planned return of the Serbisyo Caravan underscores the government’s continuing commitment to bringing essential services closer to Filipinos working overseas, noting that the DMW and participating agencies intend to further strengthen similar initiatives to broaden coverage and improve the delivery of assistance to OFWs in the UAE.
