OFW recently back from Saudi killed by husband in front of their children in Nueva Ecija

A 34-year-old overseas Filipino worker, who had just returned home from Riyadh four days earlier, was brutally stabbed to death by her husband in front of their three children in Barangay Bagong Barrio, Guimba, Nueva Ecija, Iloilo Bombo Radyo reported.

The victim, identified as Zynnel Joy Pagaling, was allegedly attacked by her husband, 40-year-old Manuel Diaz-Mendoza, using a sharpened screwdriver. According to Ferly Pagaling, the victim’s mother, the suspect even took time to file the weapon before committing the crime.

Witnesses, including the couple’s children, were reportedly screaming and pleading with their father to stop as the attack unfolded. The victim sustained fatal wounds to her chest and side.

After the attack, Mendoza allegedly took his wife’s money amounting to PHP 100,000. The motive behind the killing remains unclear, with the family expressing shock and grief over the incident.

Authorities have since arrested Mendoza, who is now in custody at the Guimba Municipal Police Station pending further investigation.
