The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 has recently introduced the OFW Lounge, a new facility dedicated to enhancing the travel experience of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs). Managed by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (Owwa), the lounge officially opened its doors on January 14 and is now operational 24/7.
Located in ParaƱaque City, the OFW Lounge is strategically placed within NAIA Terminal 1, offering easy access to both departing and arriving OFWs. Entry to this exclusive area is straightforward; OFWs need only to identify themselves with the phrase, “I am an OFW.”
The lounge aims to provide a relaxing environment for OFWs as they wait for their flights. Owwa Administrator Arnell Ignacio emphasized the importance of treating OFWs as ‘VIPs’, acknowledging their significant contributions and sacrifices. The facilities and services reflect this vision, including:
Unlimited Food and Beverages: OFWs can enjoy a variety of snacks and refreshments, along with unlimited coffee.
Comfortable Seating: The lounge is equipped with cozy seating arrangements, allowing OFWs to rest comfortably.
Wi-Fi Access: Recognizing the need to stay connected, the lounge offers free Wi-Fi to all visitors.
Charging Docks and Power Outlets: Conveniently placed charging docks and power outlets ensure that OFWs’ electronic devices are fully charged and ready for use.
