An OFW based in Dubai is currently making waves on social media after managing crowds at the Dubai Metro.
Rhea Tovillo Agsaullo’s video has captivated 50,000 TikTok viewers and over 200,000 Instagram users.
A full-time nanny by profession, Agsaullo’s journey as a self-appointed ‘conductor’ began after witnessing distressing incidents in the metro.
“I once saw a woman accidentally leave her luggage… She was very worried so I helped her,” Agsaullo was quoted as saying by Khaleej Times.
Her decision to act was further solidified after she witnessed a woman struggle with a stroller at the train doors. “That’s when I decided to do something about this,” she stated.
Since last October, Agsaullo has been a regular feature during her daily commutes, skillfully managing the flow of passengers. Before a station, she inquires, “Who is getting down here?” and efficiently organizes the exit and entry of commuters. In overcrowded situations, she tactfully informs waiting passengers with a smile, “Oops, no space. Sorry!”
Beyond crowd management, Agsaullo also plays the role of a peacemaker during tense moments. “People using the Metro are from different cultures… I try to encourage everyone to be considerate, kind, and peaceable,” she shares.
Commuters have expressed their appreciation for her presence. “She’s so energetic and funny… I felt like I am travelling in an Indian city’s bus,” an Instagram user commented. Another commuter, mistaking her for a staff member, noted her helpfulness during rush hour on TikTok.
Despite the attention, Agsaullo remains humble and focused on her mission. “I just want everyone to get home safe, with a smile on their faces,” she says, embodying the spirit of community service and bringing a touch of warmth to the daily grind of public transportation.
