Cebu Pacific is calling home overseas Filipino engineers as it launches a new initiative to boost its aviation workforce with globally trained talent. Through its “Juan Flight Closer to Home” program, the airline is offering various engineering roles and relocation support to returning OFWs.
“Filipino engineers have earned the respect of the global aviation industry, and we believe it’s time to bring that excellence home,” said Cebu Pacific chief human resources officer Felix Lopez in a statement released Thursday.
The program seeks to attract Filipino engineers currently based abroad to join Cebu Pacific’s expanding engineering and fleet management teams. Available positions include aircraft cabin interiors engineer, aircraft structures engineer, maintenance controller, powerplant engineer, and avionics engineer.
To support the transition, Cebu Pacific is providing a full relocation package that includes a complimentary flight to Manila with baggage allowance, one-time financial assistance for resettling, healthcare coverage starting from day one, and travel benefits extended to the employee and their dependents.
The number of hires will depend on how applicants’ qualifications align with the airline’s current and future operational needs. Even before the program’s formal rollout, more than ten engineers had already joined the carrier.
