A Filipino domestic worker’s long-awaited homecoming ended in heartbreak after she was found lifeless aboard a bus just a few hours from her family’s home in Negros Oriental.
The victim, identified as 41-year-old Wilma Auza from Barangay San Isidro, Manjuyod, had just returned to the Philippines after working in Kuwait. Her journey had spanned multiple countries—passing through Japan, Manila, and Cebu—before she boarded a series of buses en route to her final destination.
According to police reports, fellow passengers on the bus from Dumaguete noticed Auza looking visibly ill. Some said she had vomited during the trip but later appeared to rest. When the bus arrived at its final stop, passengers tried to wake her—only to discover she was unresponsive.
Authorities were immediately notified, and Auza’s body was brought to the local Rural Health Unit for medical examination. Investigators are reviewing her travel and medical history to determine the cause of death.
The tragic news has devastated her loved ones, who had been waiting to reunite with her after years of separation.
Local officials are now working closely with her family to provide support and assist with funeral arrangements. An investigation is still underway.
