Rather than centering the announcement on the citizenship process itself, Even reflected on the period that shaped him most—his early days abroad. In a post shared on his social media platforms, he recalled arriving in the UK during a time marked by uncertainty and isolation, as the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted daily life worldwide.
“I remember arriving in the UK for the first time, working overseas, at malayo sa pamilya ko. It was during the pandemic (one of the hardest seasons of my life). Those days tested my patience and my strength. May mga moments ng takot at kalungkutan,” he wrote.
Even is known to many Filipinos online for documenting his experiences as a nurse overseas, often highlighting both the practical realities and emotional weight of life away from home. His content has resonated strongly with fellow overseas Filipino workers navigating similar transitions, particularly those who left the Philippines during the height of the pandemic.
