Passengers on Dubai’s intercity buses can now enjoy free Wi-Fi during their trips, thanks to a new collaboration between the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and telecom provider e&.
All 259 RTA buses serving routes between Dubai and other emirates—such as Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Ajman, and Fujairah—have been fully outfitted with high-speed internet access. The move is expected to make daily commutes more productive and convenient, whether travelers need to work, study, or simply browse online.
The upgrade is part of the RTA’s ongoing push to improve digital services and modernize public transportation. It also aligns with the UAE’s broader digital government goals and Dubai’s aim to become the smartest and happiest city globally.
Authorities confirmed that the Wi-Fi performance will be continuously monitored to maintain service quality. RTA also revealed that plans are underway to bring similar digital innovations to other public transport modes, including marine services.
