Ninoy Aquino International Airport ranked as world’s ‘worst airport’ in new study

The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) has been named the “worst airport in the world” following a recent study conducted by Australian research firm Compare the Market. The study, published on October 25, 2024, analyzed 60 of the world’s most popular airports, evaluating their Google Review ratings, operational efficiency, accessibility, services, cleanliness, and Skytrax ratings.

Each airport was given a score out of 10, with higher scores indicating better performance. NAIA received the lowest score among all 60 airports reviewed, with an overall index of 0.24, placing it at the bottom of the list.

NAIA’s scores across various categories included 6.6 for both efficiency and accessibility, 6.1 for services, and 6.8 for cleanliness. Its Google Review rating was 3.8, while its Skytrax rating was lower at 3.0. Despite these low scores, NAIA was ranked the 50th busiest airport globally in terms of passenger volume.

In contrast, the study highlighted the world’s top 10 highest-rated airports, with Hong Kong International Airport, Singapore Changi Airport, and Tokyo International (Haneda) Airport taking the top three spots, followed closely by Incheon International and Hamad International Airports.
