The UAE has recently announced its public holiday calendar for 2024, outlining several key dates and potential long weekends.
Following the four-day Eid Al Adha holiday, the next public holiday will be the Hijri New Year, expected on July 7, 2024, a Sunday.
There may be an extension to create a long weekend, depending on a decision by the UAE Cabinet, as allowed under resolution No. 27 of 2024.
Looking ahead, UAE National Day, now celebrated as Union Day, will grant both private and public sectors a two-day holiday on December 2 and 3, falling on a Monday and Tuesday, potentially extending the weekend for many.
After this, the subsequent public holiday will not occur until January 1, 2025, allowing residents to ring in the New Year on a Wednesday.
