Sharjah authorities are investigating the case of a newborn baby found abandoned in a landfill in the Al Saja’a area.
According to a Gulf News report, citing Sharjah Police, the infant’s body was discovered by municipal workers on January 27 during routine waste collection. The baby girl, who was fully developed, was found unclothed with the placenta still attached, suggesting she was discarded shortly after birth.
The discovery was made around 5 p.m., after which the body was transferred to a hospital before being sent to a forensic lab for examination.
Authorities have launched an investigation to identify the mother and determine the circumstances surrounding the abandonment.
