New WhatsApp update to allow music listening during video chats

WhatsApp, owned by Meta, is set to unveil a new feature that will significantly enhance the video calling experience. The upcoming feature will allow users to share and listen to music and video audio collectively during a video call. This development was reported by WABetaInfo, noting that the feature is currently in the works for both iOS and Android platforms.

The introduction of this feature marks a step forward in multimedia collaboration, as it enables users to simultaneously listen to video and music audio while engaged in a video conversation. WABetaInfo highlighted that this addition showcases WhatsApp’s commitment to innovation and improving user experience. It also positions WhatsApp uniquely in the competitive landscape of messaging and communication apps.

Additionally, the feature is expected to open up new avenues for collaboration, such as the real-time discussion and enjoyment of multimedia content. In line with this, WhatsApp is also rolling out a ‘manage emoji replacement’ feature to some beta testers. This feature, available in the latest WhatsApp beta for Windows update from the Microsoft Store, allows users to opt-out of automatic text-to-emoji conversion, thus offering more control over their messaging experience.

Users can check if this feature is available on their account by navigating to the app settings and the general tab.
