The UAE Ministry of Interior has unveiled a traffic penalty reduction initiative as part of its ‘Accident Free Day’ campaign, launching on August 26. The program aims to reduce traffic violations and promote road safety as the new school year begins.
According to a Khaleej Times report, motorists who avoid accidents and adhere to traffic laws can have four black points removed from their records. To qualify, drivers must sign a traffic pledge available on the Ministry’s website. This offer will be available for two weeks following the campaign’s launch.
The initiative seeks to ensure a smooth and safe first day of school by encouraging responsible driving, especially near schools. The Ministry stressed the importance of obeying traffic laws, maintaining safe driving practices, and prioritizing pedestrian and emergency vehicle safety.
