A new Trade Commissioner has been appointed to head the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) in Dubai, which operates under the Philippine Consulate General. This office, part of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), is responsible for promoting Philippine exports and investments across the United Arab Emirates, as well as in countries such as Oman, Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Greece, Egypt, Russia, and Israel.
The new commissioner, Vichael Angelo D. Roaring, is a career officer with the DTI’s Foreign Trade Service Corps (FTSC), which oversees the country’s global trade and investment offices. He has previously served in trade promotion roles in Tel Aviv, Mexico City, Paris, and New Delhi.
Before joining the government, Roaring worked in marketing and brand management for multinational and local brands such as Bench and L’Oreal. He earned his degree in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines, Diliman.
