Starting August 1, 2024, UAE residents can apply for Japan visas at new Japan Visa Application Centres in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, established by VFS Global in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan in the UAE and the Consulate-General of Japan in Dubai. The centres were inaugurated by Mr. IMANISHI Jun, the Consul General of Japan in Dubai and the Northern Emirates.
These centres will accept both short-term and long-term visa applications by appointment, which can be made online at no cost. From September 1, 2024, e-visa services will also be available at these centres.
VFS Global offers several optional services for added convenience, including Visa At Your Doorstep, Premium Lounge, Prime Time submissions, and Form-filling Assistance. Monaz Bilimoria, Regional Head of VFS Global, expressed enthusiasm for expanding the partnership with the Government of Japan, emphasizing the centres’ role in meeting the growing demand for travel to Japan.
The new centres aim to facilitate easier and faster visa processing, supporting Japan’s goal of increasing foreign visitors to 60 million by 2030.
