The UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) has launched an ‘easy payment initiative’ to help residents manage unexpected medical expenses. This new program allows patients to pay for services in instalments through credit cards, reducing financial strain from out-of-network charges or urgent procedures.
According to a Khaleej Times report, MoHAP has partnered with eight local banks, including Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB), Commercial Bank of Dubai (CBD), Emirates Islamic Bank, Emirates NBD, Ajman Bank, and Sharjah Islamic Bank, to offer this payment solution. Cardholders from these banks can apply for the plan directly through their bank’s call centre or other available channels.
The easy payment plan enables individual and corporate customers to pay MoHAP service fees in instalments over 3, 6, 9, or 12 months for amounts of AED 1,000 or more. Terms and conditions set by the banks, including profit rates and installment periods, will apply.
To apply for the easy payment plan, customers must first pay their fees using a credit card and then contact their bank to arrange the installment payments. The initiative aims to make managing financial obligations easier and improve the overall quality of life in the community.
