Owning a home is now within easier reach for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) after the government introduced a major change to its flagship housing initiative.
Under the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program, the Pag-IBIG Fund has released updated guidelines that make all OFWs eligible for home financing, regardless of how much they earn. The adjustment was outlined in Pag-IBIG Fund Circular No. 473, issued on July 10, which removes income “decile classifications” as a barrier to qualification.
Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac welcomed the policy, calling it a meaningful step toward turning the long-held dream of homeownership into reality for millions of Filipinos abroad.
The new rule ensures that OFWs, whether high or low earners, will have access to more affordable housing options through the Pag-IBIG End-User Home Financing Program.
