The newly established Expo City Dubai Foundation is offering grants of up to $100,000 to women social entrepreneurs to support their grassroots initiatives benefiting people and the planet.
Applications for the grant are now open. “We are ready to consider all proposals and support exciting, impactful initiatives in a timely manner,” said Yousuf Caires, executive director at Expo City Dubai Foundation, in an interview with Khaleej Times.
The initiative is the first of many collaborations with Expo City Dubai’s Women’s Pavilion aimed at creating a center for women social entrepreneurs. Grants will range between $50,000 and $100,000, and the foundation will offer funding and investment support to entrepreneurs and start-ups.
Caires emphasized that the foundation is dedicated to supporting social entrepreneurs in various sectors, including climate, youth and education, people of determination, and women. “We work together with a like-minded community of entrepreneurs, philanthropists, corporates, and fellow foundations from around the world,” he stated.
The Expo City Dubai Foundation is a continuation of Expo Live’s legacy and partnerships, which have supported 191 initiatives from 92 countries since its inception in 2013. Expo Live’s efforts have positively impacted 5.8 million people globally, created 160,000 jobs, improved healthcare for 1.1 million people, and restored 36 million hectares of desert and non-arable land.
