Warner Bros is in the early stages of developing a new movie set in George R.R. Martin’s expansive fantasy world, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
While no director, writer, or cast has been attached yet, the project is said to be the first film in Martin’s Game of Thrones universe.
The original HBO series, based on Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire novels, ran from 2011 to 2019, capturing audiences with its tale of nine noble families vying for power in the fictional land of Westeros. The series has already spun off a prequel, House of the Dragon, which began airing in 2022 and is now in its second season.
