Taylor Swift has officially revealed her twelfth studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, following a whirlwind day of online speculation that kept fans glued to their screens.
The buzz began Monday when her marketing team shared a carousel of 12 photos on social media, captioned: “Thinking about when she said ‘See you next era…’” Hours later, her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, confirmed she would appear on his podcast New Heights, while Swift’s official website launched a mysterious countdown to 00:12 ET.
The album title was unveiled in a clip from Kelce’s podcast and made available for pre-order on her website. A release date, however, has yet to be confirmed.
Swift’s previous record, The Tortured Poets Department, smashed Spotify’s single-day streaming record last year. The announcement of her new project comes after a quieter start to 2025, following the conclusion of her monumental Eras tour in December 2024. The tour spanned 149 shows across 53 cities and, in the UK alone, drew nearly 1.2 million fans and generated an estimated £1 billion for the economy.
In May, Swift also reclaimed ownership of her first six albums, closing a highly publicised chapter in her career. She has already re-released four of them as “Taylor’s Versions,” promising the remaining two will “have their moments to re-emerge when the time is right.”
