New emergency department opens at Abu Dhabi’s Burjeel Royal Hospital

The Burjeel Royal Hospital has inaugurated a new emergency department in Al Ain, Abu Dhabi. The Department of Health (DoH) – Abu Dhabi has officially licensed the facility to provide round-the-clock emergency care.

Dr Saleh Fares Al Ali, the executive director of the Centre for Emergency Preparedness and Response at the DoH, emphasized the department’s importance. “This initiative by the DoH to launch the emergency department at Burjeel Royal Hospital is a testament to our commitment to enhancing community health services in Al Ain,” he stated.

The department boasts a 25-bed facility staffed by a team of seasoned emergency and trauma care professionals, including board-certified physicians and nurses. Their expertise covers a wide range of medical and surgical emergencies for both adult and paediatric patients.

John Sunil, group CEO of Burjeel Holdings, reiterated the group’s dedication to providing advanced healthcare. “Our aim is to ensure that Al Ain residents have access to premier emergency healthcare services,” Sunil remarked.

The inauguration ceremony saw the presence of Dr Al Ali, John Sunil, Ali Khalifa Al Qamzy, general manager of Al Ain City Municipality, Lieutenant Colonel Saif Juma Al Kaabi, head of the Ambulance Department in Al Ain City, and other top officials.

This new department is supported by hospital specialists across various fields, including cardiology, neurology, surgery, and more, ensuring comprehensive emergency care. Dr Zuhair Alsharafi, corporate director of emergency services at Burjeel Holdings, highlighted the department’s state-of-the-art medical and diagnostic technology. “Our goal is to provide swift, efficient, and accurate emergency care to enhance patient recovery,” he explained.

Dr Zia Danesh Jummani, head of the department, pointed out the strategic location of the hospital in Al Ain’s Central District, which will improve accessibility to crucial healthcare services. The department is equipped to handle a wide array of cases, from minor injuries to life-threatening conditions.
