Filipino emigrants can now experience a smoother and more efficient immigration process with the integration of the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) system into the enhanced e-Travel app.
The upgraded system, officially launched at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3, aims to modernize government services in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Bagong Pilipinas vision.
CFO Secretary Dante Ang II emphasized that the integration eliminates confusion and delays by allowing outbound Filipino travelers to verify their CFO registration requirements before departure.
“With the integration, our outbound Filipino clients can now verify whether they require CFO registration before their departure, eliminating confusion and reducing delay,” Ang said.
By connecting the CFO’s database with the Bureau of Immigration’s (BI) Border Control Relations and Travel App, the system ensures real-time verification, enhancing security and preventing the use of fraudulent CFO certificates.
“This development will significantly improve the immigration process, ensuring a faster and more efficient experience for Filipino travelers,” Ang added.
The project was a collaborative effort between the CFO, BI, and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). DICT Undersecretary David Almirol highlighted that the system eliminates the need for manual checks, reducing processing time at checkpoints.
“The integration allows the BI to instantly verify a traveler’s CFO registration, ensuring the authenticity of CFO certificates and preventing fraudulent documents,” Almirol explained.
