Passengers arriving at Dubai International Airport (DXB) can now skip the wait at baggage claim, thanks to a new service that delivers luggage directly to their homes or hotels. Additionally, departing passengers can check in and drop off their luggage remotely, fast-track through immigration, and unwind in a lounge before their flight.
The innovative service comes as marhaba, a division of dnata and Emirates’ travel and airport services arm, integrates offerings from DUBZ, a baggage technology and logistics company. This move aims to enhance convenience and reduce travel stress, according to a report by Gulf News.
The new service provides three key options. With Check-In Anywhere, passengers can complete check-in from the comfort of their home, hotel, or office, where agents will issue boarding passes and collect luggage, securely transporting it to the airport. Land and Leave allows arriving passengers to bypass baggage claim entirely, with their luggage delivered directly to their doorstep within hours. Baggage Storage and Delivery offers flexible storage solutions and secure same-day delivery across the UAE, making it ideal for transit passengers, early checkouts, or those exploring the city without being burdened by luggage. Travelers can book these services through marhabaservices.com, with baggage storage and delivery available at designated service points in Dubai.
Jaffar Dawood, Divisional Senior Vice President for UAE Airport Operations at dnata, emphasized the growing demand for streamlined travel experiences. Citing data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), he noted that 70% of travelers prefer checking in their luggage in advance to avoid queues. “Whether it’s a family trying to simplify their departure or a business traveller looking to save time, the demand for seamless airport experiences has never been higher,” Dawood said. “With this integration, we’re anticipating those needs and going beyond them. It’s about removing friction and giving people back time and peace of mind.”
Since dnata acquired DUBZ in 2018, the service has rapidly grown, securing partnerships with airlines like flydubai, Saudia Airlines, and flynas. In 2024 alone, DUBZ served over 70,000 passengers, marking a 15% increase in usage compared to the previous year.
Further innovations are on the horizon. dnata CEO Steve Allen previously told Gulf News about plans for a state-of-the-art, $35 billion terminal at Dubai World Central (DWC), expected to open in 2032. The facility will feature fully automated processes, including advanced biometrics for a queue-free experience. Allen explained that the terminal aims to offer a seamless experience, where arriving passengers will find their luggage already delivered to their destination, whether home or hotel.
