The Sustainable City will soon see the introduction of three autonomous on-demand delivery robots, servicing restaurants and shops within the plaza area. This pilot project, starting this year, is a collaboration between Dubai Future Labs and Lyve Global.
According to a Khaleej Times report, these delivery robots, developed by local experts from Dubai Future Labs, are equipped with advanced features such as real-time tracking, a fleet management system, and a secure delivery compartment accessible only by the customer. Lyve Global has provided the back-end order fulfillment and delivery operations system.
Designed to operate safely and independently, the robots promise delivery within 30 minutes, navigating sidewalks and locating charging stations without human intervention. This initiative is part of Dubai’s vision to have 25% of trips autonomous by 2030.
Other Dubai communities, like The Silicon Oasis, have also tested similar robotic technologies.
Khalifa Al Qama, director of Dubai Future Labs, highlighted the efficiency and safety of the robots in ensuring quick deliveries. Fadi Alfaris, general manager of NZE Solutions at SEE Holding, noted the suitability of The Sustainable City’s car-free design for such trials. Hassan Hallas, CEO of Lyve Global, emphasized the revolutionary impact of deploying these cutting-edge delivery robots on logistics.
