Wizz Air, known for its ultra-low fares, is set to launch its first long-haul route using the new Airbus A321XLR, connecting Abu Dhabi with Milan. Starting June 2, 2025, the airline will offer daily direct flights between the two cities, marking a significant expansion in its network and introducing intercontinental travel at competitive prices. Tickets are already available starting at AED 429.
The new Airbus A321XLR aircraft allows Wizz Air to extend its reach to longer routes while maintaining cost efficiency. This development represents a shift in the airline’s strategy, focusing on connecting more distant locations at affordable rates. The route between Abu Dhabi and Milan is the first in a series of planned long-haul services using the new aircraft, aiming to make international travel accessible to more passengers.

Nathalie Jongma, Vice President of Aviation Development at Abu Dhabi Airports, welcomed the expansion, emphasizing the importance of diverse travel destinations and enhanced passenger experiences.
