New Abu Dhabi dialysis centre offers free treatment for kidney patients

A new dialysis facility has officially opened in Abu Dhabi, offering free treatment to residents suffering from kidney failure.

According to a Gulf News report, the SEHA Abu Dhabi Dialysis Centre, located on Zayed The First Street, is a result of a collaboration between the Authority of Social Contribution – Ma’an, healthcare group PureHealth, and its subsidiary SEHA. It is part of the “From the Community to the Community” initiative, supporting the UAE’s Year of Community.

Initially able to accommodate 112 patients receiving dialysis three times a week, the centre is already planning to expand its services to include peritoneal dialysis and serve more individuals.

Staffed by specialists from SEHA Kidney Care, the facility uses advanced hemodiafiltration machines connected to real-time data systems, ensuring patients get the highest standard of care.

Funding for the centre came from generous community contributions, which Ma’an continues to channel toward social impact projects.

In addition to providing vital medical services, the centre also highlights community engagement through art. With support from the Department of Municipalities and Transport, several renowned artists painted murals within the facility, creating a more comforting environment for patients.

SEHA CEO Saeed Jaber Al Kuwaiti said in the same report that the new centre reflects the group’s mission to ensure that quality healthcare remains accessible to all, particularly the most vulnerable.
