In an effort to aid distressed overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), including those in need of legal assistance and counseling, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has unveiled the “One Repatriation Command Center” with a 24/7 hotline at 1348.
During his message at the OFW Family Day in Pasay City on Wednesday, Marcos assured OFWs of the government’s ongoing programs and projects aimed at improving the quality of their lives. He also emphasized that the government is taking necessary steps to ensure the safety of OFWs abroad.
Marcos further mentioned that the government provides services and programs for the reintegration of OFWs who choose to stay in the Philippines “for good.” These programs include the Livelihood Development Assistance Program, Balik Pinas, Balik Hanap-buhay, Financial Awareness Seminar-Small Business Management Training, Enterprise Development Loan Program, and Tulong Pangkabuhayan sa Pag-unlad ng Samahang OFWs.
The President also highlighted government programs such as the OFW Children Circle, OWWA Education and Training Program, Educational Assistance, and the construction of an OFW Hospital in San Fernando, Pampanga.
Marcos assured OFWs that the administration is committed to paving the way for a “New Philippines,” where working abroad is merely an option for those who wish to do so, as there are abundant opportunities available in the Philippines.
He added that OFWs serve as true examples of modern Filipino workers who exhibit diligence, skill, and resilience in their professions, something to be proud of on the global stage.
