Netflix announces the addition of “Gomburza” to its streaming platform, set to debut on April 9. The film, part of the MMFF 2023 lineup, joins other Filipino cinema offerings scheduled for release.
In a statement, Netflix revealed that “Gomburza” is among the several MMFF 2023 movies slated for streaming next month. Following this, “Becky and Baddette,” starring Pokwang and Eugene Domingo, will begin streaming on April 4, followed by “Kampon,” featuring Beauty Gonzales and Derek Ramsay, on April 18.
June will see the release of three more MMFF movies on the platform: “Family of Two,” starring Alden Richards and Sharon Cuneta, premiering on June 1, “Penduko,” led by Matteo Guidicelli, on June 7, and “Mallari,” starring Piolo Pascual, on June 21.
Earlier, Netflix had announced the upcoming arrival of “Rewind,” featuring Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes, set to start streaming on March 25.
Directed by a noted filmmaker, “Gomburza” chronicles the lives of Mariano Gomez, Jose Burgos, and Jacinto Zamora, three Filipino martyr priests executed during the Spanish colonial era. Cedric Juan, recipient of the MMFF 2023 Best Actor award, leads the cast of the acclaimed movie.
